Family:
In 1897, at the age of 25, Hubert married Octavia Isabella Elizabeth Auchmuty, who was 22 years his senior. They were to have no offspring and Octavia died in 1920.
As a widower, Hubert lived with his spinster sister Kate Mary, at Parkwych, Droitwich.
One of Hubert’s grand-nieces recalls visits to see him in his latter years and recalls:
“A wonderful, kind man who lived in Katie’s kitchen with very many various clocks on the mantlepiece. He was a photographer of great skills. He wore silver rimmed glasses. I always looked forward to seeing him: he was lovely.”
